What type of images are you looking for?
We are looking for photographs of surreal scenes found in the world around you. We hope to see surreal scenes that are mystifying by nature, and not by way of multiple exposure, light leak, performance, or or any other effect.

Can I submit if I live outside the United States?
Yes. But please remember that if your image gets selected you will be asked to cover the shipping costs of the publication to your country.

How will I find out if my photo is selected?
We will email everyone who submitted with the results - if you got selected or sadly didn’t get selected we will email you letting you know about it.

When will the postcards + enamel pin publication be ready?
We hope to have the publication printed and finalized in December 2018. We hope this will not get pushed back but please allow a delay in case anything comes up.

Do I get a copy of the publication if my work is selected?
Yes. You will get a free copy of the publication+pin if your work is selected. We only ask that you pay for the shipping costs. If you are in New York City area we would love to give it to you in person!

After the publication and pins are printed - can I buy it?
Yes. The publication will be a small limited edition run, and once all selected artists will be given a free copy, the remaining will be sold on the Float website and on Casual Science’s website too. Enamel pins will be sold as part of the set but also separately. Prices TBD.

Do photographs that I submit have to be my own original work?
YES!

what are the copy rights?
The artists keep 100% of their photo rights. You are giving Float Photo the right to print your image, with your name and details attached to it, for the purpose of creating this specific publication. The image will also also used for our online promotion on various platforms and our online exhibition but you always keep the rights to your images.
