Imperfect Poetry

Imperfect Poetry" brings together a collection of photographic works that embrace the beauty of flaws, the eloquence of the unfinished, and the quiet power of the unpolished. Each image captures moments that might otherwise be overlooked—fragments of everyday life where the imperfect becomes poetic. These photographs do not seek perfection; instead, they revel in the raw, the honest, and the vulnerable. The resulting zine and online exhibition invite viewers to find grace in the imperfect, celebrating the delicate balance between what is seen and what is felt, between reality and the art of imperfection.

I never remember the simple and plain days, Its the ones that are unimagined. The random snow storm falling across the Arizona desert. The quiet girl making the first move in the middle of the packed bar. The lost cat found sitting atop the mailbox in the pouring rain. All these things came to me out of thin air, And all these things shaped a little part of me. Planning life doesn’t leave this lasting effect. Its the hiccups, mess-ups, and fucks-ups. Those are what make me me.

Imperfection is merely another word for celebration. Aren't the most cherished moments imperfect? Full of warmth-The weathered plush of a loved doll, the surprise of a double egg yolk, the cracks that spread across the tarmac and line the faces of every person you've ever loved. Is it not these imperfections that are worth capturing?

To be human is to be imperfect, and to be imperfect is to welcome the asymmetrical. Welcome the strange, welcome the unexpected turns, and alluring flaws. The broken feathers, the crooked smiles, and the smallest vulnerable charms, so unique they cannot be replicated or imagined in the first place.

I see imperfections, like scars, as a vehicle for story. A show of resilience, proof of a life and body molded from the moments of imperfection we all encounter.
