Indivisible From the Sheen of Plastic | I'm interested in photographing places that have been transformed not only by the passing of time and the shifting of light, but also by the cumulative layering and overlapping of building styles with economics. My images are less about passing judgement on these sites and more about observation.
interact with what has become too familiar as I move through these spaces. The camera allows me to engage with my environment. Awareness of light, color, texture and repeating pattern have challenged me to be more present and cognizant of my immediate surroundings. My images reframe and isolate aspects of an already existing network where the contrived and the fortuitous mingle. City planners make decisions that impact the collective, however I am drawn to the smaller marks left by individuals and nature. I take these photographs to try to make sense of a landscape that is always changing. www.jasonfalchook.com
